August 2025: Developments & Property Sales
A neighbor in the Facebook group flagged work being done at 700 Fowler Street (at the corner of Donelson Avenue), which we learned is intended to be used as a multi-family, 47 unit housing space.
Former councilman Larry Hagar flagged that this property’s zoning has been approved for a long time. However, councilman Jeff Eslick stated, “I got a response from the codes and planning. They don’t have any active permits for the area. Will continue looking into it.” We will keep posted as information becomes available.
Last month, we reported that the storefront at 1204 Donelson Avenue was intended to become a vape shop, but the property owner was open to other ideas. We can now confirm the contract with the vape shop has been terminated and a new tenant has been found. We will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
In Lakewood, 2803 Old Hickory Boulevard is now for sale. The space is currently configured as a recording studio, but the listing notes that it can be repurposed as a retail storefront, salon or spa, office suite, or boutique. The building that was formally home to Superior Music at 3610 Old Hickory Boulevard is also for sale.
On the Rayon City side of Old Hickory, the commercial space at 303 Bridgeway Avenue and its neighboring lot at 305 Bridgeway in Rayon City are now for sale.
Riverside Golf Links is listed for sale. The realtor’s listing notes that the whole 140 acres can be purchased, but they’re also willing to sell the lower 18 holes, driving range, and maintenance facility for a reduced price. The listing also notes that the property is zoned R-15, which allows for low-medium density residential. This equates to 2.9 dwellings per acre, or 406 dwellings. We will keep the neighborhood updated.
If you’re looking for a nearby dog park, one has just opened in Madison about 12 minutes from The Village. A neighbor mentioned in the Facebook group that One Mile Park, located on Connare Drive at the intersection of Apple Valley Road in Madison, is a nice and clean place for your dog to burn off energy. This park also includes a playground and a small walking loop.
Finally, the Sole4Souls building was listed in June and remains for sale. Two major properties on the corner of Robinson Road and Industrial are also listed. These Robinson Road properties share the same SP zoning as the townhomes built across the street.
