January 2026: New Businesses, Developments & Property Sales
Following the recent string of good news at 1202 Donelson Avenue – the opening of Duckbill Bookshop, James’ Tea Room, Powder City Candy & Gifts, and With Blossoms – the tenants have shared that the building is once again for sale. The tenants are looking for a landlord just as invested in supporting our community. Please contact them with any questions.
We can now confirm that 2401 Old Hickory Boulevard is undergoing extensive renovations and is not undergoing further disrepair. This building, located at the corner of 24th Street and Old Hickory Boulevard, recently had permits approved to add a 1000 square foot addition to the rear of the existing building. We will keep you posted as additional information becomes available.
The Rhodes Building is still for sale. However, two units have also been listed for lease, identified as 521 and 525 Old Hickory Blvd.
The lot next to the strip mall containing Urban Air has a contingent sale “upon certain conditions being met.” It is currently zoned for 72 townhomes.
303 Bridgeway Avenue in Rayon City has a contingent sale as well, although its neighboring 305 Bridgeway Avenue is still for sale.
Speaking of Bridgeway, the owners of 118 Bridgeway are actively looking for a new commercial tenant. They note that the space would be “an awesome spot for food, retail, salon/barber shop, office space, etc. Possibility of food truck parking, verification through Davidson County required.” Smoke shops will not be permitted.
Finally, Rayon City Cafe is aiming for a January grand opening. No date has been provided, but you can follow along on Instagram, Facebook, and their website for updates.
